AWANA Bucks are back!

Something we are bringing back this year in our T and T Club is AWANA BUCKS! Part of AWANA is teaching kids how to SERVE Jesus by serving others.  So, this year our T and T Clubbers can earn “AWANA BUCKS” for completing each section in their handbook. Clubbers can earn up to $2 in Awana Bucks per section with parent signature and verse memorization.  What will they do with the AWANA BUCKS? Great question!  Instead of using that hard earned CASH on themselves, we want to teach clubbers how to bless someone else with it.  Our goal is to reach $250 in AWANA BUCKS by December 13 so we can bless a local family this holiday season.  We will convert the AWANA BUCKS to real money.  Exciting news, a church member has already come forward stating they will match our goal so we can double our blessing, yay!   Who will we bless, Beckett Foster, a 5th grade boy in Kimball, is fighting bigger battles than most 5th graders.  It all started last December with a well child visit.  Beckett had been having some lower right rib pain after his wrestling matches.  His doctor thankfully took an X-ray and noticed something was not right with his 12th rib.  This led to multiple other tests and visits to many doctors.  With the results of a surgical biopsy they determined Beckett had a high grade carcinoma of the 12th rib.   Beckett was diagnosed with a very rare aggressive cancer called NUT-Midline Carcinoma, which has the potential of reoccurrence. Since his diagnosis Beckett has had surgery to remove two ribs, 10 rounds of Chemotherapy, and will now begin the final phase of his care plan Radiation Proton Therapy at Mayo clinic, with the hopes to be done by Christmas!  It has been a long road but the end is in sight…Beckett has been so strong and brave and has done it all with such a great determined attitude.  Learn more about his journey on his CaringBridge site https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/beckettfoster
